This weeks borrower interview is a fascinating chat with Svetlana. Living in the UK, she has managed to build up a thriving ebay business which she now aims to grow with a Bitbond loan. Read on to hear what she has to say about business, bitcoin and the world of eCommerce.
Bitbond: Could you let us know a bit about your professional background?
I graduated from two universities with professional manager diplomas. It is my profession and it is my passion. I love to startup businesses and develop them to successful companies. My last project, which started in January 2011 is my current business – online store, which trades on all main online marketplaces – Ebay, Amazon, Etsy, Bonanza etc.
I sell an items for health and beauty, mostly for women. It is pleasant and easily for me as I am woman and I prefer healthy and fit lifestyle. I know my market, my customers and their needs very well.
Bitbond: What was your first encounter in Bitcoin?
I have heard and read about bitcoins a lot but never deal with in reality.
Bitbond: Why have you decided to apply for a loan through Bitbond?
Bitbond looks like very easy and time saving way. I believe that time is my main source, so I prefer simple and quick solutions.
Bitbond: Could you describe in more detail what is the purpose of the loan?
I would like to expand range of my products. I do it non-stop but sometimes I need more cash to realize my ideas. At the moment I would like to start import of cedar oil, it has very high demand over the world.
Also I manufacter and sell some cosmetics – hand made. It is quite popular and I am happy how it goes. I would like to start 9 new positions but I need to buy some ingredients and what is more important, some equipment for that.
Bitbond: What was your motivation to start your business?
I always have been business woman, since university time. My first business experience was – cosmetic trading, it was very exciting – to earn money and to do it using your own ideas, experience and personal qualities.
Later I started my real estate business, which was alive from 1994 to 2010 and also travel agency. During European recession I had to sell them as I had my first baby and was unable to manage them in such difficult period.
However I cannot realize myself working for somebody else. For me only acceptable way to earn is to run my own business. I am really well educated for that and it is what I really like. After 1 year break I have started my new business in 2011.
Bitbond: Do you have a team or do you run the business on your own?
At the moment it is family run business, we work together with my husband. However I see that very soon I need to employ staff, at least 2 persons as we have too many work. I am going to do it by this year’s end.
Bitbond: Do you feel that Bitcoin is widely known in the UK? Are there many places in your area that accept Bitcoin?
I don’t think that they are widely known. I see that all my friends have heard something about that but nobody knows exactly what it is and how to use them. I reckon, it is very beginning of bitcoins era.
