This week we are joined by Venezuelan clothing retailer and Bitbond borrower Joe for another fascinating interview. Joe’s Simple Clothing store sells excellent printed sweatshirts and pullovers to fashionistas from around the world. In this interview we talk about Joe’s business, his Bitbond loan and the future of bitcoin.
Joe’s small business loan is for $6,245 over 36 months, and will help him open his first flagship store in Caracas. Investors only have a few more days to invest at 29.5%.
B: Hi Joe, thank you very much for taking the time to talk to us today. Could you start off by telling us a little about yourself and your business?
J: Simple Clothing is an independent project born in the city of Caracas, Venezuela in June 2014. During the last two years we have worked consistently to success on our goals working with hundreds of collaborators around the world.
All this effort has brought us as a result being the first independent clothing brand made in Venezuela able to jump borders and being distributed in more than 50 countries around the world online.
We are dedicated to the production and distribution of all kind of all over printed clothes and accessories .
The design possibilities with this method are virtually unlimited and is what allows us to offer a range so wide and varied products. Each of our orders is done individually within 10 days from the moment costumers makes the order, this allows us to guarantee that they will receive a product that has been carefully hand crafted in a personalized way.
B: How come you ended up starting this business and why have you chosen this particularly niche?
J: Since i was a teenager i started up being interested and studying things like web development, graphic design, clothing design, photography, social media, marketing and sales. During these days i ran a few projects with moderate success in those areas, until i graduated from high school, and started studying a degree of sociology in the Central University of Venezuela.
There i could realize about the fact that personally i was not interested in work for anyone ever, so i started to think in a one serious and long term project in which i could use all my knowledge and experience and allow me to be my own boss and gave me the possibility of living free. So the idea of founding an e commerce and a clothing brand seemed to fit in those requirements so after a few days of thinking it about and considering the conditions and evaluating the market, i decided to create Simple Clothing©.
B: What do you hope to achieve with your loan and why did you choose Bitbond over a bank?
J: From the beginning we have had to work hard and face many challenges, these years have been of much learning.
We were one of the first clothing brands selling through an online store, in a market where consumers still rather to buy in local stores, this meant we had to work hard and honestly to generate confidence in our customers, which in many cases, made their first purchase online with us. After almost three years we can say that we have had success on online seeling, more than 587 sales and satisfied customers throughout the world.
We believe it is time to go from the virtual world to the real world and establish our first local flagship store where we can offer to consumers, the possibility ofsee the products, try their sizes, quality, and purchasing. So this loan will be used for everything related to rent, remodeling, stock production of items for sale, advertising and other aspects of the store opening.
The store will be located in the center of Caracas, in an old building of the 20s, in a totally tourist area and commercial area. The place is a bit deteriorated because it has been unused for almost 20 years so a reform to adapt to what will be necessary. However we do not want our shop to be the typical store so we have prepared a conceptual design project adapted to the brand “visual” concept with several artists from Venezuela to make the store a wonderful and unique place, where the shopping experience will be memorable .
We must also going to need making a stock of approximately 250 products to put them on sale during the first weeks and carry out a campaign of online and offline off advertising for the opening, which we estimate could be on December 2016. I’ve choose Bitbond instead of banks because you offer fast and better conditions than they also because the platform works amazingly well and it is extremely easy to use and right now in Venezuela it is almost impossible to get a fair loan due to government restrictions over the banks.
B: What is your favorite feature on Bitbond? What features do you think are missing?
J: Definitely the fact that everything is P2P Support! It is so inspiring. I would have liked a lot if i could post a most completely description of the project, including images, videos, etc… I think people will also like to see those things and maybe a follow program for successful projects so they can see the results of the loans!
B: What would you want potential investors to know about your loan?
J: I would like them to know that we’re a totally legit company, we’ve been working on this project for almost 3 years by now and this is the moment to make a big step and start a new time for the business opening our first flagship store! Investing in us is definitely a safe choice!
The loan will be used for paying the rent of the place, remodeling it and making the stock of products for sale. We’ve made market studies, a business plan to make sure of the economical sustainable and growth of the business, we got everything planned, scheduled and settled up to start once the project is founded. You will be able to follow our work all the time through our website and social networks.
B: What do you think the future holds for bitcoin? Is it the modern-day equivalent of the internet or will it fall flat on its face?
J: Bitcoin has been growing as a probable payment platform that might just become our daily friend. Analysts predict a bright future for Bitcoin as they cite the present economic situation and analysis as indicators for Bitcoin’s growth.
B: As a business owner, does your place of work accept bitcoin? If not, what do are the chances of that changing?
J: We used to accept bitcoins through our website but now the platforms does not allow it. We’re working to make it available again! When the store is open we will accept bitcoins there.
B: Thank you Joe for a fascinating interview. If you readers would like to help Joe open his first flagship clothing store in Caracas, then head over to his small business loan now.
