Without further ado, lets get to the borrower interview!
Bitbond: Could you let us know a bit about your professional background?
I began painting around the age of 13 and had my first success selling artwork at auctions for fundraisers in high school. I also worked at Out of the Way Galleria in Tuscon, AZ from 2002-2006 as an apprentice framer.
During this time I also self-taught myself in egg tempera. In 2013 and 2014 I did a series of Acrylics. One of these paintings was collected by the family of Sean Hayes who was Will on ABC’s long running sitcom “Will and Grace”.
From late 2013 until present I have completed about 10 poster art designs for musicians although none have received distribution. Recently, I have been working on a poster design for a musician and was asked to design a fashion clothing line for a major clothing company.
Bitbond: What was your first encounter with Bitcoin?
I had heard of Bitcoin, but it wasn’t until earlier this year that I think I understood how bitcoin worked. I then started doing small jobs on bitcoinget to earn bitcoin and then paid for jobs I’d have people do for me on Fiver. I found it was an easy way to exchange money.
Bitbond: Why have you decided to apply for a loan through Bitbond?
I chose Bitbond for borrowing because I like how you take many steps to verify your borrower’s information. This builds trust. Many of my art supplies that I need I can purchase with bitcoin through overstock.com. All of the design work I do thus far has been unpaid as I gain experience.
Bitbond: Could you describe in detail what the purpose of the loan is?
Purpose of the loan is to buy art supplies for various design and commissioned projects where I may not see a return right away. I will be purchasing acrylic paint, watercolor paint, canvas and other materials used in the production of art.
Bitbond: What motivated you to start your business?
I was motivated to start my business by working in galleries and seeing how successful they become and realizing you can make a living being an artist. I have successfully completed multiple college level classes in entrepreneurship and accounting and have run other businesses before.
Bitbond: Do you have a team or do you run the business on your own?
I have an agent that presents my art to galleries.
Bitbond: Do you feel that Bitcoin is widely known? Are there many places in your area that accept Bitcoin?
I feel like Bitcoin has a long way to go before it is widely known and used by the general public. I think online digital currency is the future though. I only use bitcoin to transact online, I have never gone out into my local area to see if a business will take bitcoin.
