This week we are glad to present Carlos Andrés Mazuera Mayor who raises funds for the second time for Fundacion Sociedad y Familia. His first loan in the amount of 1 BTC was fully repaid. Carlos who is also an independent investor in bitcoin shares with us about his foundation, about the purpose of his second loan and about his optimism for the future of bitcoin.
Carlos, would you share with us what cause your foundation stands behind?
We are a foundation dedicated to developing social investment projects in the vulnerable population (displaced, indigenous, mothers head of household, children, afrocolombian population, among others) of the southwestern Colombian. We have established our Foundation in 2007 and we want to continue betting on social inclusion and the development and progress of the country.
Friends and that some institution gives us.
What do you hope to achieve with your loan and why did you choose Bitbond over a bank?
I would say that banks only care about winning them regardless of the customer. In my country financial costs and interest are very high. On the contrary, Bitbond is a unlike focuses a lot on collaboration and you receive the support of many people in the world, who like you, they are achieving their dreams thanks to Bitbond. I think there is a great win-win relationship.
What is your favorite feature on Bitbond? What features do you think are missing?
For me the main characteristic is the possibility of helping or contributing to achieve the dreams of others. Second is the ease with which you can get the financing. And something I would like to improve on is that while you are financing, the system will also allow you to invest your available funds, either in your loan or other funding applications that are active.
What would you want potential investors to know about your loan?
I am a person who meets their obligations on time, I like to make friends everywhere and generate a good impression, to have open doors to wherever I go. The loan I made, I requested it to support the development of the projects for the population victims of the armed conflict in my country, since this work is done in the company of people in my family and it is not easy to develop all social projects to benefit The community, when you do not have the support of big investors.
What do you think the future holds for bitcoin?
Is it the modern-day equivalent of the internet or will it fall flat on its face? I am very optimistic about the future of Bitcoin and the other cryptocurrencies, it is a market with enormous potential that allows all the people of the world to make transactions that are much more economical, saving time and that can generate income through them in any part of the world. I think it’s going to have a success like the Internet.
As a business owner or an employee, does your place of work accept bitcoin? If not, what do are the chances of that changing?
My country has the problem that all the technological developments that are generated in the world, do not arrive immediately, usually takes years. Both the government and the people of the common majority fear Bitcoin and the cryptocurrency or have no idea of what is and the great possibilities they have. Through my Bitcoin Wallet with my Debit Card, I can withdraw by ATM the revenue I get through Bitcoins, however I do not know a business here in Colombia that makes payments with Bitcoins.
Thank you very much for taking the time to talk to us this week, Carlos. Investors who want to support Fundacion Sociedad y Familia can still invest in Carlos’ small educational loan for a limited amount of time.
Thanks for reading and see you on the platform.
